Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | 28 May 2025 – H.E. Vice Minister of Transport & Logistic Services, Dr. Rumaih Bin Mohammed AL-Rumaih inaugurated the 2nd edition of Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.
After the ribbon cutting, the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services delegation toured the exhibition, engaging with key government entities exhibiting at the exhibition. Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI), Saudi Post (SPL), the Transport General Authority (TGA) and the Roads General Authority were among the organizations that presented their latest initiatives and projects aligned with the nation’s logistics ambitions.
“The Kingdom’s logistics sector is entering a new phase of accelerated development, and the Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo comes at a defining time for the industry. As we work to solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub, this event brings together decision-makers, investors and industry leaders to contribute to the objectives set under the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program. At the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, we remain committed to advancing initiatives that align with Vision 2030 by enhancing infrastructure, streamlining supply chains and expanding the logistics ecosystem,” said H.E. Vice Minister of Transport & Logistic Services, Dr. Rumaih Bin Mohammed AL-Rumaih.
Senior border guard delegation visits exhibition
As the event opened with strong momentum, marked by government participation, high-profile delegations and active engagement across the exhibition floor, one of the key highlights was the senior officials’ visit from the General Directorate of Border Guard. The delegation, coordinated by the Ministry of Interior received a formal welcome before a guided tour of the exhibition, with particular interest in automation technologies, fleet innovations and last-mile solutions on display.

Summit highlights AI’s role in driving an efficient supply chain
The first day also marked the conclusion of Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Summit, a CPD-certified, invite-only platform with over 40 industry experts. One of the key sessions featuring Hala H. Alhuraibi, Aviation and Logistics Director, Ministry of Investment; Abdullah Munif AlMunif, Vice President for Commercial Business, Saudi Ports Authority; Mohammad Ghassan, Head of Logistics (KSA), Amazon; and Daniel Azzouni, Country Freight Manager – KSA, Aramex International, moderated by Praveen Khare, General Manager, Globus Logistics, highlighted he importance of building a supply chain that balances efficiency with resilience through cost-conscious strategies, agile logistics models and risk-ready frameworks to navigate the evolving landscape of 2025 and beyond.
Among some of the key speaker discussions was Mutasim Al-Olayan, Strategic Planning Director at the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, who addressed the national strategy for transport and logistics. Alaa Banabilah, Director of the New Logistics Program at the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services provided a forward-looking view of Saudi Arabia’s logistics centers masterplan and infrastructure investments.
Another industry expert, Wouter Nijland, Master Planning and Development Director at Matarat, explored the growing role of airport logistics in shaping Saudi Arabia’s logistics transformation. His session focused on the strategic development of cargo and logistics villages through airport master planning, the commercial potential of special economic zones across Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh, and the untapped opportunities for airfreight and warehousing within the Kingdom’s aviation hubs.
Automation, fleet and logistics in focus
A diverse showcase of local and international brands brought together the latest solutions, technologies and products advancing warehousing, logistics and supply chain efficiency across the Kingdom.
One of the exhibitors, Swisslog, showcased its latest warehouse automation innovations, highlighting its modular AutoStore multi-temperature solution designed to optimize storage and retrieval across frozen, chilled and ambient environments. The compact system aims to enhance cold chain logistics while supporting Vision 2030’s objectives for scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure.
Another participant, Smartlog MEA, is exhibiting under the theme “Reimagining your intralogistics – Uniting technologies to be your solution,” presented its advanced autonomous mobile robotics and proprietary Galys software suite designed to deliver customized, efficiency-driven solutions Commenting on their participation, Iñigo Arranz, General Manager, Smartlog MEA said, “Events like this foster dialogue and mutual insight, which are essential as the region continues to develop modern, resilient and efficient logistics infrastructures.”
